2014 Eastern Ontario Section Pre-Juvenile - Juvenile Invitational

Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario is offering a Pre-Juvenile / Juvenile Invitational during the 2015 Eastern Ontario Sectional Championships in order to give EO skaters an opportunity to compete prior to the 2015 Eastern Ontario STARSkate Invitational Championships (EOSIC).

Date, Location and Registration Deadline is the same for Sectionals

STAR 1-5 Coach Workshop
Plan to attend the upcoming Coaches' workshops to introduce the finer details of the STAR 1 – 5 competition format are now scheduled as follows:
Sunday, September 28 – Kemptville 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. North Grenville Community Centre
Sunday, September 28 – Petawawa 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Petawawa Civic Centre
Saturday, September 27 – Lindsay 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Howard Johnson's Hotel
Saturday, September 27 - Cobourg 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. 'Revised time' Cobourg Community Centre, Cameco C Rm.

As well as information on STAR 1 – 5, there will also be an introduction to the upcoming revision of the STARSkate test structure for Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary and Junior Bronze levels.

The STAR 1 – 5 Coaches' Workshops are FREE for all registered Skate Canada coaches – officials are also welcome to attend. Registration for these workshops will be conducted through the Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario office. Simply send an e-mail to this address: eos2@bellnet.ca with your name, Skate Canada number and contact information (e-mail and/or phone number) and the clinic you wish to attend. Please make every effort to attend this important developmental opportunity.

Autumn Skate 2014 & Skate Ontario Super Series Final

Road Closure - Important
Unfortunately, there will be some traffic issues associated with Autumn Skate and the SOSS Final on Saturday and Sunday.

The highway will be closed at Vanier Parkway for a rapid bridge replacement. Lane reductions will begin on Saturday at 3 p.m. and the highway will be fully closed by Saturday at 6:00 p.m. until a partial reopening, barring complications, on Sunday at 11:00 p.m.

The City plans detours onto the Vanier Parkway and then back on to the highway for both east and west bound traffic. Delays in travel time are to be expected.

2015 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships - January 19-25, 2015

On May 14, 2014 Skate Canada announced that the 2015 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships will be held at the Rogers K-Rock Centre in Kingston, Ontario, January 17 to 25, 2015.

As of June 16/14 the online volunteer application and all volunteer information regarding the 2015 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships will be available on the Skate Canada website by clicking on the following link: http://www.skatecanada.ca/en-us/eventsresults/volunteer.aspx.

The application form will be accessed through clicking the "Volunteer Now" button on that screen.

Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older. Volunteers for Ice Patchers must be 13 years of age or older and meet the required skating levels.

The recruitment and selection process for flower retrievers and victory ceremony participants has been determined. An audition session will take place on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Rogers k-Rock Centre. Times will be confirmed closer to the date. ...Information
