Mission Statement
To encourage a love of skating by assisting the clubs of Skate Canada - Eastern Ontario in their efforts to provide opportunities for everyone to participate in skating for fun, fitness, interest and/or achievements.

Vision
Skate Canada - Eastern Ontario will be a place where inclusive skating environments will be created in order to provide opportunities for the positive growth and development of all participants and stakeholders regardless of their respective levels of skills, achievements or connection to the organization.

General
The Board of Directors consists of 18 positions and several resource personnel (the Eastern Ontario Section is divided into six regions which elects a representative to sit on the Board of Directors). The constitutions and by-laws of Skate Canada are paramount and take precedent over the Section and club constitution by-laws.

The Section Chair is also part of a unique organization known as Skate Ontario recognized by the Ontario Government (Ministry of Health Promotion) for figure skating in the Province of Ontario. The four Ontario Skate Canada member Sections provide developmental and competitive opportunities for the 75,000 members including competitive and recreational skaters as well as coaches and officials. Skate Ontario is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of the four Ontario Skate Canada Section Chairs who act as officers of the corporation and who are responsible for strategic planning.
