Bring a Friend Day
Bring a Friend Day is a day for the club to promote their club to friends of their club skaters. Clubs are encouraged to structure this day similar to their regular CanSkate sessions. Clubs may offer two Bring a Friend Days per membership year (September 1 – August 31) for no additional cost and all participants, including the friends, are covered with member accident insurance. The club must inform Skate Canada's Member Services department of the scheduled dates and approximate number of friends expected to attend prior to the scheduled date(s). If more than two dates are planned in one membership year, the club must contact BFL CANADA and request to purchase member accident insurance for the non-Skate Canada members that will be participating in this day. The cost will be $2.00 per participant. Note that all participants MUST wear helmets as per the Skate Canada Helmet Policy.

It is important to note that "Family Skate or Skate with Santa" only Skate Canada members participating in this program will be covered. Become a Volunteer
Every day, thousands of people voluntarily give their time and talent to skating across Canada. They give their time freely and with no expectation of monetary reward. Volunteers deliver services that improve and enhance the sport of figure skating allowing clubs to accomplish their goals and minimize expenses, while providing volunteers with opportunities to develop and contribute. They represent every walk of life – professional, homemaker, student, retiree – as well as every age and cultural group.

VolunteeringSkate Canada is a very successful national organization and one of the reasons for this is the involvement of thousands of volunteers that help to keep things running. Some individuals have been volunteering for more than 50 years! There are many types of volunteer positions available and these can range from playing music at a club skating session to making policy at the national board level. To become a volunteer at a skating club contact the club president of the Skate Canada member club nearest you. If you are not sure of the location, please go to our club listing.
