Our Annual General Meeting is your opportunity to meet our Board of Directors, learn about our achievements in the past year, and let us know what matters to you. An AGM is held every year to elect the Board of Directors and inform members of previous and future activities. It is an opportunity to receive copies of the financial statement as well as review fiscal information for the past year and ask any questions regarding the decisions the organization will take in the future.

It is the responsibility of the Nominating Committee to present qualified and suitable candidates for positions on the Board of Directors. Other candidates may also be nominated and those names should be forward as per instructions on the Nomination Forms - deadline for all Nominations is TBA to Gordon Markham. Clubs will receive the forms in the mail or they can be downloaded.


Annually, clubs receive Delegate and Proxy forms from both Skate Canada and the Section, providing the opportunity to express support for candidate (s) or issue (s). The club has the option to nominate a Delegate or assign a Proxy, the Delegate of the club attends the meeting and represents the wishes of the club membership; if no one from the club can attend, Proxy is used to authorize another person either from another club or Section Board Member to vote on the club's behalf.


Each year Skate Canada and EO award nomination forms are mailed out to clubs; clubs are encouraged to nominate an eligible candidate.

Since 1981, Skate Canada - Eastern Ontario has been paying tribute to athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers who have made a significant impact to figure skating.
